The demo prices a battery the way most installers do their own first pass: a supply-and-fit rate for the battery itself, banded by size, plus a cost for whatever it takes to connect it. A homeowner with solar and their own inverter needs an AC-coupled retrofit, which is the cheapest path. A homeowner replacing their existing inverter with a hybrid one pays extra for that swap, and a homeowner with no solar at all still gets a price, since a battery charged overnight on a cheap tariff is a sensible job on its own. A backup circuit, which keeps the fridge and wifi running through a power cut, is priced as its own optional line rather than folded into the total. None of these numbers is special: when we build a calculator for a real installer, the rates, the setups, the questions and the rules are all theirs, entered once and changed whenever they like.
The point is not the arithmetic, which is deliberately simple. It is that the homeowner gets an honest range in under a minute, including the genuine 0% VAT position, and the installer gets a lead that already contains the battery size, the existing setup and the extras chosen.
