Wood Burner Installation Quote Calculator

This is a live, working example of the instant-quote tools we build for stove installers. Try it exactly as a homeowner would: pick the stove, tell it what the chimney is doing, and see how the enquiry lands with the business before they have picked up the phone.

Working example. "Ember & Oak Stoves" is a fictional business and the rates inside are illustrative. When we build yours, it carries your branding, your prices and your rules, and every quote is emailed to you as a lead.

Get a wood burner estimate in 60 seconds
Your estimate
£2,300 – £3,800

Includes a carbon monoxide alarm and full HETAS building-regulations sign-off: both are a legal requirement, not an extra we charge for separately. A firm price follows a survey of the chimney or flue route.

Every stove quoted here is Ecodesign compliant and DEFRA exempt, so it can legally be burned in a smoke control area. Tell us your postcode and we will confirm whether that applies to you before anything is booked.

Request a firm quotation & arrange a visit/call

Leave your details and Ember & Oak Stoves will confirm the price, usually the same day.

Instant quotes for your customers, at a glance

A firm-feeling range in under a minute

Homeowners pick a stove tier and tell it about the chimney, and see a realistic installed price before they have finished scrolling.

Stove, flue, hearth and labour, apart

The estimate breaks the stove, the chimney or flue work, the hearth and the installation labour into their own lines.

The legal extras, named as included

The carbon monoxide alarm and the HETAS sign-off are called out as included, not slipped in as optional upsells.

Your tiers, your flue rates

Stove tiers, the liner and twin-wall flue rates and the hearth price are entirely yours to set and change.

Leads arrive already scoped

Every enquiry lands in your inbox with the stove tier, the chimney answer and the estimate the homeowner saw.

The chimney question, asked upfront

A twin-wall flue job costs a lot more than swapping a stove on a lined chimney, and the homeowner sees that before they call.

How this estimate is put together

The demo prices an installation the way most stove fitters actually price a job over the phone: a supply cost banded by stove tier, entry, mid-range or premium, then the chimney question, which is the one that genuinely moves the total. An existing chimney that is already lined is mostly a connection job: swept, smoke tested and hooked up. The same chimney unlined needs a flexible flue liner run down its full length, which is where a lot of the cost in a typical installation actually sits. A house with no chimney at all needs a complete twin-wall flue system built up through the room and out through the roof, by far the biggest single line on the estimate. A hearth, where one is not already in place and suitable, is priced and shown separately, and installation labour, including connecting the stove, testing the system and the paperwork, gets its own line rather than being folded into the stove price. None of these numbers is special: when we build a calculator for a real stove installer, the tiers, the flue rates, the questions and the rules are all theirs, entered once and changed whenever they like.

The point is not the arithmetic, which is deliberately simple. It is that the homeowner gets an honest range in under a minute for the specific job in their house, not a generic "wood burners from £X" headline that ignores whether they even have a usable chimney, and the installer gets a lead that already contains the stove tier, the chimney answer and the customer's expectations before anyone has driven out to look at a flue run.

Why a big-ticket job needs the range set before the visit

A wood burner installation is not a small purchase, and the gap between the cheapest job and the most expensive one is enormous: a stove swap onto a chimney that already works is a different order of spend to a full twin-wall system in a house that has never had a flue. Homeowners who only see a headline "from" price feel misled the moment a survey reveals they need a liner, and that reaction costs the installer bookings. An instant quote that asks the chimney question up front does the qualifying before the phone rings: the homeowner arrives at the survey already expecting roughly the right number, and the installer spends the visit confirming details rather than managing the shock of a bigger figure than the one they had in their head. That is what turns a big-ticket enquiry into a booked survey rather than a "let me think about it".
